  1. IT IS THE ATHLETES RESPONSIBLITY TO KNOW THEIR COURSE.
The course will be marked with flagging, signage and pylons.  DO NOT expect volunteers at every intersection.  Review your course map, run the route in advance, and add the route to your fitness app to keep you on course!

  2. This is a cup free event.  We will have some cups available at each station, but please come prepared.

  3. Timing.  If there are enough attendees to cover the event expenses, chip timing will be used to provide results. In case it’s not feasible, manual timing will be employed. The results will be accessible online within 24 hours after the event.

If you cannot participate, or need to change your event distance, you can log into your your Participant Dashboard and edit registration.

Upgrades require runners to pay the race fee difference. When downgrading, race fees are not refunded. Race fees for transfers are applicable to the price tier at the time of the change.

REFUNDS

Entry fees are non-refundable.

For Legal and Liability reasons runners cannot offer their unused bib to any other runner unless they complete the event transfer.

DEFERRAL POLICY

Event Cancellation announced 3 weeks or more before the event:

  • 55% Deferral Discount into the following years event

Event Cancellation announced within 3 weeks of the event:

  • 25% Deferral Discount into the following years event

The event is held rain, snow or shine and will not be cancelled except for cases of severe weather or Acts of God (Force Majeure). In the case of severe weather, the Race Director will evaluate conditions and make an appropriate determination regarding initiation, cancellation or continuation of the race in question race morning.  Such determination shall be based on prudent consideration in conjunction with local law enforcement and/or other officials.  Any announcements regarding course changes or race cancellation will be made by the race announcer on race morning before the scheduled start. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, Multisportscanada reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race, or to make any modification concerning the time, length or nature of the event.

AIR QUALITY POLICY

This policy has been developed by Triathlon Alberta/Triathlon BC and utilized by Multisportscanada to make an appropriate decision when the Field of Play is impacted by low visibility or forest fire smoke.

Full details on the protocol can be found here.

We will be utilizing the Air Quality reporting made available by each provincial government.

Alberta – https://airquality.alberta.ca/map/
British Columbia – Metro Vancouver – NW, British Columbia – Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) – Environment Canada (weather.gc.ca)
Saskatchewan – https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/7431e790acad443bb618bafe817416ca

With a Level of 7 or greater, the event will be cancelled.  We will notify participants 72 hours in advance with the current Air Quality levels, but as conditions can change within hours, a final decision will not be made until the morning of the event.

Here’s a forecast map

As we have applied for all permits, purchased all event materials (medals, race gear and related merchandise) and committed all registrations to the event, with no possibility of getting these funds back, no refunds, credits or rollovers will be available.

If the event is cancelled, all event merchandise will be made available.  Each event will have it’s own process and participants will be notified accordingly.
